The Uber platform will start operating in Ibiza from Wednesday 29 November at 09.00, as reported on Thursday in a statement.

Users will have at their disposal the services of Taxi, Uber Comfort, the premium VTC service and Uber Van, for groups of up to six people. The Comfort Reserve and Van Reserve service, which allows reservations up to 90 days in advance, will also be available in the coming weeks.

According to the platform, with this launch continue betting on collaboration with the taxi sector. The platform incorporated this service for the first time in 2019 in Madrid, followed by Malaga, Barcelona and Valencia in 2021, Mallorca, Tenerife and Zaragoza in 2023, which makes Ibiza the eighth Spanish town to have a taxi in the Uber APP.

Ibiza taxi drivers who register to work with the APP will be able to earn an incentive of 150 euros by completing their first 25 journeys and take 300 euros for each new guest taxi driver. Likewise, the first drivers of Uber Taxi will be able to access incentives of up to 300 euros each week.
Uber has also assured that it wants to respond to the great growth of demand for mobility that Ibiza is experiencing in recent years and that is especially noticeable during the summer months.

According to data from Uber, more than 350,000 users tried to use the app during their stay in Ibiza since May this year.

The general director of Spain and Portugal of the company, Felipe Fernández Aramburu, said that, with the launch, continue betting on Spain and the taxi sector. " We want to work hand in hand with taxi drivers, the local tourism sector and public administrations to improve mobility in Ibiza," he said.

With the launch of Ibiza, Uber is already present in 11 cities in Spain.
