The Blue Bar will close at 02.00 hours and Formentera is officially without nightlife

The management of the Blue Bar has stated in a communiqué that as of August 27 they are withdrawing «definitively from nightlife and we will close at 02.00 hours». The note goes on to state «a huge pressure that we have never really wanted» and add that «a very sad factor has been added and is the quality of tourism and the type of people who currently visit the premises and Formentera; in many moments really unpleasant, with aggressive attitude, despot and no respect for the island, nor for business. That generates many fights, something that our family has never wanted».

In conversation with Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera, the owner of the Blue Bar, Rico Hartmann, said: «The Blue Bar has always been a place of good vibes and we don't want to support this kind of behavior. We will concentrate on a beautiful sunset, concerts and cultural activities and good food and say goodbye to the night after 33 years».

Thus, at the end of the season the island will be practically without nightlife.
