On March 1st, agents of the National Police of the Ibiza Police Station have proceeded to the arrest of a 33 year old man of Colombian origin as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.

The police intervention began when uniformed officers of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police went to the home of the investigated man located on the outskirts of the city, because there was an arrest warrant against him due to the fact that a few days before he had broken a restraining order to approach his ex-partner.

The agents were received at the house by the current partner of the investigated, authorizing them expressly and tacitly to enter the house to verify that the defendant was not inside.

The surprise was when they were able to verify that in one of the rooms there was an indoor marijuana plantation in full operation with an odor extraction system and halogen lamps, as well as a large number of pots with marijuana plants.

In view of the presence of this plantation, the investigation was continued by the UDYCO group of the National Police who requested a warrant to enter and search the house to the Court of Instruction on duty, and previously located proceeded to carry out the search, intercepting 61 marijuana plants weighing two and a half kilos, one hundred grams of marijuana buds, a vacuum packaging machine, airtight bags for packaging and cash.

Once all the formalities were completed at the police station, the detainee was handed over to the Duty Court.
